Payment fraud

More than one French person in five has unwittingly left his or her bank details on a fraudulent site.

This statistic did not exist a few years ago. Whereas payment fraud used to be an isolated act, it is now the work of transnational organizations, equipped with professional tools and related organizations (call centers, data processing centers, supply chains, economic intelligence).

Existing tools

In this context, existing tools are no longer able to respond to this paradigm shift. Existing tools are mainly built on a rules engine model, with arbitrary, pre-defined thresholds. They are focused on the payment transaction, built in silos (by universe, by payment scheme), and offer innovation limited to no code, or artificial intelligence as an overlay.

These existing tools give an illusion of control, and produce numerous false positives that hamper customer relations. Implementing these tools is costly, and often leads to a negative ROI, as it is frequently necessary to hire dedicated anti-fraud operatives to handle the extra alerts that will have been issued.

Heptalytics changes the paradigm……

… data science as a service…

By offering a data science service, and through a unique approach, Heptalytics is fundamentally changing the paradigm of the fight against fraud, money laundering and the financing of terrorism.

The implementation of Heptalytics integrates a data-science offering, combining the best data-science skills with expertise in the fight against payment fraud. This data-science offering enables the model to be adapted to the context of each customer, and even to the context of each agent or merchant in the case of Payment Services Providers.

… from “local to global” to “global to local”.

In terms of analysis, Heptalytics also turns the paradigm on its head, focusing on the end-user, to carry out a 360-degree analysis of all parameters, integrating digital and numerical dimensions, to establish a score for the user’s level of risk, and finally a score per transaction. The result is a much more powerful AI.
